Mayor Mark Mallory is the Founder and CEO of Mark Mallory and Associates LLC, a Consulting firm focused on urban revitalization, economic development, transportation, sustainability, and financing Public Private Partnerships.

Born in the West End of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mayor Mallory attended the University of Cincinnati and began his career in public service as a book shelver at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County where he worked for 14 years in a variety of positions, climbing to Manager of Graphic Production and Assistant to the head of public relations. In 1994, he succeeded his father, Majority Floor Leader William L. Mallory, Sr., in the Ohio House of Representatives. Four years later, he was elected to the Ohio Senate where he rose to the position of Assistant Minority Leader and served two terms.

Between his time in the House and Senate Mark served as Ranking Minority Member of the Transportation Committee and the Rules & Reference Committee. He was also on the Finance Committee; Judiciary Committee; the Insurance, Commerce and Labor Committee; Education Committee; Financial institutions Committee. Senator Mallory also served on several special committees, including the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee, of which he was the Chairperson, and the Joint Legislative Ethics Committee.

Mark was sworn in as Mayor of Cincinnati on December 1, 2005 and was re-elected in 2009. His election marked a new era for City Hall as the first two-term Mayor under the City's new Stronger-Mayor system, the first directly-elected black Mayor, and the first Mayor in over 70 years who did not come from City Council.

Mayor Mallory championed the renaissance that is taking place throughout Cincinnati. His vision of a modern city that competes nationally and internationally for businesses, investment, and residents rallied the community to produce major change. Mayor Mallory's leadership pushed Cincinnati to pursue bold projects and creative strategies to transform the city.

Leading the City through one of the most difficult economic periods, Mayor Mallory balanced the City budget while avoiding police and fire layoffs, along with no significant reductions in City services. Under Mayor Mallory's leadership, the City of Cincinnati continued to move forward with several major developments. In 2007, Mayor Mallory reversed Cincinnati’s population loss for the first time in 50 years and the city has continued to grow in population ever since.

Mark established Mark Mallory & Associates in 2014 after leaving City Hall to utilize his expertise to help individuals and organizations achieve and replicate the successes seen in Cincinnati.
